It’s one of 4 grand slam tennis tournaments with the Australian Open, French Open and US Open taking the other 3 spots. It is a very traditional tournament and is well known for the strict ‘all white’ dress code for competitors and royal patrons. It is also the only grand slam tournament that is played on grass courts.
Tickets for Wimbledon are made available to the general public by public ballot, with successful candidates selected at random. Applications for the tournament in June must be submitted by mid-December so if you have your heart set on attending one of the most traditional tennis tournaments in the world, then plan ahead! You can still queue up to try and get seats on the three courts on the day of the match, buy you’ll more than likely need to queue from the night before as this method has proved very popular.
Alternatively, you can watch from the hill on the northern end of the grounds where a giant television screen is made available for fans. Bring your Pims and soak up the atmosphere on the day cheering on your favourite tennis player!LESS INFORMATION
